LocalWP is a free software that allows you to easily and conveniently setup and start hosting WordPress on your local computer. It's very easy to install and setup, and in no time, you can start making websites with WordPress. To start using LocalWP, first you will have to download it from their official website at www.localwp.com. We are going to follow this step by step with screenshots.

Once you click on the button, a new popup will appear which will ask you to choose your platform, this is where you will have to select the type of Operating system you are using. In my case, I use Windows OS, so i selected WINDOWS. You will have to select your Operating System to continue.
Once you have selected your Operating System, a form will show up. Fill up the form correctly with your details according to how it applies to you and click on the 'GET IT NOW' button. Once you click on the 'GET IT NOW' button, a popup will appear, which reads: "Your download should start automatically, if it doesn't, CLICK HERE". In my case, it didn't start automatically, so i clicked on the link.
Wait for the download to finish.
Step 2: After the download is completed successfully, navigate to where you have downloaded the software. This should be located in your download folder on your computer. Once you have found it, double click on it or right click and select 'RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR' a new popup will appear and you might have to give some usage permissions, just click next when done. Next screen will ask you to choose the install location; You just have to leave it as it is, as this is really not necessary, but if you want to choose another location, click on browse then select the location you want after that, click INSTALL.
The installation should start after that and should be completed in seconds. once completed, it will bring up a new screen and you just have to click FINISH to complete the installation. After that, a Terms and Condition screen will show up, you can read it if you want, otherwise, it is not necessary, just AGREE to proceed. Congratulations! You have successfully installed LocalWP on your computer, you can now exit everything on the screen. After the installation, you will see an icon on your desktop screen with the name, LOCAL.
open the app and click on the button, titled "CREATE A NEW SITE" just as seen on the screenshot below
On the next screen, you have to name your website. we named ours "WPdixcus", you can name yours anything you like. After choosing the right name, click on CONTINUE to proceed to the next screen.
This screen asks you to choose your environment. The default one is PREFERRED, and that's all you need to proceed, you do not have to ( and you shouldn't) change anything on this screen, unless you know what you are doing, if not, just click on CONTINUE to proceed.
The next screen will ask you to Setup WordPress. You have to input the username, password and email address you want to use to login to your WordPress admin dashboard. Fill up your details correctly and click on ADD SITE button.
Now you have successfully downloaded LocalWP, installed it on your computer and added WordPress. It's time to visit our website to see how pretty it looks. On the next screen, you will see two buttons on the top right corner of the screen, with the following names "Admin" and "View site" just as seen on the screenshot below.
those are the buttons you need to manage your site. Clicking on the "View site" button will take you to the front page of your website, while the Admin button will take you to the admin dashboard of your website, where you can control everything that appears on the front page of your website. On the bottom of the screen, you will see another button, which allows you to enable LIVE LINK. Once you click on enable live link, the software will automatically generate a unique link, which can be shared to anyone you want to be able to view your website, it could be your clients or friends or you can copy the link to your mobile phone browser, to see how your website appears on small screens.
